 Two-Vehicle Crash in Northern Indianapolis Leaves Local Residents Seriously Injured

Introduction

A fiery two-vehicle crash in northern Indianapolis has left two Ripley County residents seriously injured. The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, involved a car and a pickup truck on U.S. 31.

The Incident

The car, occupied by Jarrod Nichols of Milan and Riley Duerstock of Batesville, was hit by a pickup truck. Nichols, who was driving the car, was assisted out of the vehicle, while Duerstock was trapped and had to be cut out of the wreckage by rescue crews.

The Pickup Truck

The pickup truck, driven by Arturo Mendez of White Pigeon, Indiana, was fully engulfed in flames when rescue crews arrived. Mendez was helped out of the vehicle by witnesses at the scene.

Hospitalization and Investigation

All three individuals involved in the crash were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
