In a somber moment for the community, Youngstown bids farewell to Michael Anthony Riley, a beloved soul who has left us to be with the Lord at the age of 34.

A Remarkable Journey

Michael was joyfully welcomed into this world on January 12, 1989, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, to parents Jodi Marie and John Joseph Riley. Raised in Leetonia, he immersed himself in Cub Scouts and had a passion for weightlifting and various sports. He excelled academically, particularly in mathematics, and graduated from Leetonia High School and the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center Class of 2007.

A Magnetic Personality

Michael’s magnetic personality endeared him to countless friends who were drawn to his genuine, strong-willed, and humorous nature. His creativity and expertise in welding led him to establish his own business, STFDRV Metals Ohio, after working with Keystone Metals and SFTDRV.

Cherished Legacy

Left to cherish his memory are his two adored children, Danika Sweet Riley and Thomas Stanley Riley. He will forever be remembered by his mother and father, Jodi (Darrell) Rimbey and John Riley (Jackie Lysowski), along with grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, and numerous cousins and friends he considered family.

Celebrating His Life

A funeral Mass to honor Michael’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, OH. A luncheon will follow at Cassese’s M.V.R., where all who were touched by Michael’s presence are invited to pay their respects.
